Khakbaz Law represents individuals and businesses in prosecuting and defending commercial disputes, including lawsuits involving claims for breach of contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, securities fraud, violation of California’s Unfair Competition Law (Bus. & Prof. Code § 17200 et seq.), and violation of California’s Independent Wholesale Sales Representatives Contractual Relations Act (Civil Code § 1738.10 et seq.).
Additionally, Mr. Khakbaz has significant experience packaging and presenting evidence to state and federal prosecutors and public agencies in connection with concurrent governmental investigations, handling matters involving complex e-discovery issues, and tailoring litigation strategies to navigate nuanced public relations concerns.

Practice Areas
Personal Injury
Khakbaz Law’s personal injury practice is focused on the representation of people physically or emotionally harmed by the negligent or intentional conduct of others. Our personal injury practice encompasses the representation of people injured in many different contexts, including:
-
Car, motorcycle, bicycle, pedestrian, and slip and fall accidents;
-
Threatened or actual violent acts (including civil claims for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress); and
-
Defamatory publications, including social media.
Khakbaz Law represents its personal injury clients on a contingency basis. In other words, we will take on personal injury matters at no upfront cost to our clients, and we only get compensated if/when we obtain a settlement or judgement on our client's behalf.
If you or one of your family members were physically or emotionally impacted or killed because someone else's negligent or intentional acts, Khakbaz Law will aggressively fight on your behalf to hold the at-fault parties legally and financially accountable.
Insurance Coverage
Khakbaz Law represents insurance policyholders in negotiating with, and to the extent necessary, filing and litigating lawsuits against their insurers. Mr. Khakbaz has successfully represented policyholders in a wide range of coverage disputes with their insurance carriers, including disputes regarding the existence and scope of coverage provided by Commercial General Liability (CGL), Homeowner Liability, Director and Officer Liability, Healthcare Professional Liability, Healthcare General Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fidelity (employee theft or fraud), other first and third-party insurance policies.
While insurers are often accustomed to collecting insurance premiums but denying claims, Khakbaz Law has the insurance coverage expertise necessary to ensure that you get what you are entitled to under the insurance policy you paid for.
Eaton Fire Victims
The catastrophic 2025 Eaton Fire, which destroyed vast portions of Pasadena and Altadena, was one of the most destructive fires in the history of California. As is unfortunately typical when tragedy strikes, many national and California law firms have swarmed victims of the Eaton Fire during their acute time of need through aggressive and, at times, unethical marketing efforts. These firms take a volume-oriented approach to Eaton Fire cases, failing to provide victims with the personalized attention and care they need and deserve to mitigate or otherwise manage the devastating impact the fire has had on their lives.
Mr. Khakbaz is uniquely positioned to assist victims of the Eaton Fire with their pursuit of justice. Mr. Khakbaz has a wide breadth of insurance coverage experience, which includes resolving coverage disputes on behalf of policyholders under Homeowner insurance policies. Notably, Mr. Khakbaz previously worked as an associate for the Insurance Consultant and Chief Negotiator for the PG&E Fire Victims Trust – a $13.5 billion fund established to compensate fire survivors for losses sustained as a result of the 2015 Butte, 2017 North Bay, and 2018 Camp Fires caused by PG&E. As part of his prior work for the Fire Victims Trust, Mr. Khakbaz was tasked with analyzing and processing claims submitted by victims of the 2015 Butte, 2017 North Bay, and 2018 Camp Fires to the Fire Victims Trust for payment.
